1041 words of trilogy today... Started at 4pm, took a few hours break (to eat & watch Doctor Who), finished at 12.30am. Muse had ideas, and I ran with them. May've been dangerous, but I don't care! I haven't felt this inspired in so long. Probably 5 years, actually.

I'd keep writing now, but I have work in <8hrs, my eyelids are drooping, and sleep is good for recharging the brain as well as body.

By the by, mum's doing much better since her scare on Saturday. The pain is easing, gradually, so that's good. Hopefully it goes away by the end of this week. She's currently on a diet of "bland foods", though her definition of bland seems to be different to mine. ;)

Work takes a break next Friday until January 10. Then I'll be with the company until February 11. Everyone will be in the new premises the following week. I'll be getting myself & our house ready for when it goes on the market. We're moving to Port Macquarie next year - sometime in April, at the earliest. And yeah, I'll be on the job hunt yet again. But also the dog hunt, because mum said I could have one once we've moved. :)
I think I finally have a cold. /o\ The last two nights I've been sneezy & nose-runny. Today I woke up with a sore throat. I asked the Universe not to make me sick over the long weekend... Perhaps I jinxed things. Universe likes to suck.

*shrugs*

Starting part-time hours at my work this week. \o/ 4hrs/day Mon-Fri. It's mostly so I can write every day. Or do something creative every day (but writing is my top priority). Also want to get some study done to further my career prospects. Don't want to do data entry all my life. I'm fairly sure that's not my calling.

Also \o/ ? I made a fanmix for Lost's Sawyer/Juliet. I'll put it up on [livejournal.com profile] platygrafics when I've completely composed the post. Done the front & back covers, uploaded the songs, put the important lyrics in a list. It was done for [livejournal.com profile] awesometopia points, but I've wanted to do another fanmix after Oliver/Chloe & Dean/Bela. I think I picked really good songs for James and Juliet. :)
I got caught writing at work today... Good sign? :D

It was just scene-plans for the next two chapters of my trilogy, but... it made me excited that there might be hope after all. :)

And then my supervisor tapped my shoulder, said something about "work", & the happiness left me. For a second. ;)
I'm apparently wanted for my data entry skills. By a company I applied to two months ago. They called just after I accepted the contractual position at my current job [mid-March]. I told them that I wanted to give this job a go. They said to call back after the two months if the job was over.

It doesn't look like the job will be over very soon. It's still full-time hours (not great for my writing), & I've got a good rapport with my work colleagues. It's really only the people, the money & the easy-access that's keeping me there, though. I absolutely hate the work. I'm awesome at it; I just don't feel awesome about it. And I don't like not feeling awesome about stuff 40hrs a week.

The other job is data entry too, but it's part-time! And it's exactly the same distance from home [give or take 2mins]. I just don't know the pay or the people.

They called my mobile phone today, but I missed it. They didn't leave a message; rather they called home & mum took the details. So now I'm wondering if I should accept an interview if they'd like one.

[Poll #1563751]

There are a few other part-time jobs I'd like to apply for now, too. Strange how they all show up when the contract nears its end. Makes me think I should move on.

Please, make it stop. :(

Today at work we're doing a bit of fundraising for the survivors of the bushfires.
