Our phone was disconnected on March 28 (due to no fault of our own, but every bit the fault of the AAPT customer service guy who mumbled and put in a termination request even though mum just wanted him to cancel the direct debit...)

Anyhoo. That, of course, disconnected our internet access too, and I've been sitting in my room playing games, watching shows I've already seen, and WRITING! Of all things. ;)

So, if I've missed any big news - apologies for not responding. I won't be able to read up on anything until we get the phone/internet back... Which won't be till next Friday, at the earliest.

I don't know why it took 11 days to fully disconnect us. It seemed like it only took a second.

Hope to converse with you all next weekend...
1041 words of trilogy today... Started at 4pm, took a few hours break (to eat & watch Doctor Who), finished at 12.30am. Muse had ideas, and I ran with them. May've been dangerous, but I don't care! I haven't felt this inspired in so long. Probably 5 years, actually.

I'd keep writing now, but I have work in <8hrs, my eyelids are drooping, and sleep is good for recharging the brain as well as body.

By the by, mum's doing much better since her scare on Saturday. The pain is easing, gradually, so that's good. Hopefully it goes away by the end of this week. She's currently on a diet of "bland foods", though her definition of bland seems to be different to mine. ;)

Work takes a break next Friday until January 10. Then I'll be with the company until February 11. Everyone will be in the new premises the following week. I'll be getting myself & our house ready for when it goes on the market. We're moving to Port Macquarie next year - sometime in April, at the earliest. And yeah, I'll be on the job hunt yet again. But also the dog hunt, because mum said I could have one once we've moved. :)
This is me. "Bloodlights" is the working title of Trilogy's second book. Yes, I'll be doing the second draft of Book 2 this November. Yes, that makes me a NaNoRebel. Honestly, I won't be attempting a new story (again) for NNWM until this trilogy is done & dusty (on the bookshelf, with all the other books).

And speaking of second drafts... I have completed the second draft for Book 1! Hooray! :D I still have to write a proper "world-introduction" at the start of Chapter 1, but I'm calling that part of the third draft.

My 2010 NaNoWriMo goal? 10,000 words. Since 9,020 is my highest word count for any month this year, I'm just pushing myself a little more [& with 4 less days since I have to be away this weekend].

On those writing-related notes... For those who may've missed them. I have three new(ish) fanfics up at [livejournal.com profile] platygrafics. They were all written for [livejournal.com profile] fantasyverse challenges [that I came up with].

Supernatural/The Lost World: Hell If They Know
Merlin: On Her High Horse
Legend of the Seeker: I Spy
I got caught writing at work today... Good sign? :D

It was just scene-plans for the next two chapters of my trilogy, but... it made me excited that there might be hope after all. :)

And then my supervisor tapped my shoulder, said something about "work", & the happiness left me. For a second. ;)

I won't be starting a new project for it. I'll be using NaNoWriMo for my Trilogy rewrite... updating my word count for the month of November. I already keep records for daily writing, so it won't be any different. While it would be nice to write 50000 words in those 30 days, I can't even write that much in a year. :P But, uh, encouragement will be appreciated. :)

My user name is Keystones. Feel free to add me as a buddy if you're taking part too.

Also hoping to, somehow, get the blasted last chapter of "Redemption" written & uploaded (to both Fanfiction.net & [livejournal.com profile] platygrafics) by Saturday night. I think knowing what happens at the very end is part of the reason why I can't write it. That, and the procrastination thing. :/ It's the same problem I had with the end of Trilogy Book 2 (1st draft). Unfortunately, I can't go back and rewrite "Redemption" from the start. Well, I could, but it would be counter-productive. ;)

Er... That's it.
If you're experiencing bandwith issues and/or use Photobucket, please...

In other news, did some writing! \o/ Wrote 370 words for new Trilogy scene in Book 1.

Also... I know I haven't done anything with [livejournal.com profile] musetalks; I'm not sure if I will. The muse doesn't talk to me much these days. :( Anyhoo...

I've created a new community - [livejournal.com profile] printingterrors. Haven't done anything with that yet, either, but it's basically a site to laugh and shake your head at really bad printing errors. :D Whether they be misspelt words, wrong homophones, miscalculations, repeated words, images gone wrong, etc... Anything that should have been seen (& dealt with) by an editor/proofreader, but got published anyway.

Membership is currently moderated. I'm planning to work on the design and comm info this weekend.
In some odd way, I think Twitter has helped. :D The #writechat chats on Sundays (early Monday mornings for me), and the #writegoal "room" have been very encouraging. It's cool getting in touch with so many writers, and yet at the same time... It's freakin' scary! :o ;)

Btw, Why Writers Should Be Using Twitter. ;)

WRITING!

Jan. 14th, 2009 12:16 am
Albeit, just 130 words so far... But a lot of important talk in an important chapter.

*doesn't care that it's 12.15am, and she needs to leave the house in 7hrs*

*is writing!*

EDIT: 2hrs later... 240! And so much information in the dialogue. Chapter 8 is no longer boring! It has weapons & birds & they don't go together! Scene nearly done. Then... a bit from the funeral service. :( And then... Hmm. I think I may need to add a new chapter. :o
