It looks like a good way to brush up on my fic-writing, and when people vote I'll see just how good or bad my fic is by how long I last. :D At the moment, none of my land comms offer me the opportunity to see how well my writing has done - in the eyes of its readers. Statistical feedback helps too, y'know. ;)

I'm yet to come first in anything. Only been a runner-up so far...

1. Entered my dog in a "Dumbest Dogs" competition run by a dog magazine. Prize was a 1kg bag of high-class dog food, a dog-training book, and a terracotta water bowl with "One of Australia's Dumbest Dogs" painted on it. That was approx 12 years ago. We still have the bowl. ;)

2. Entered a competition to be in the studio audience and meet Andrew Denton backstage at the final of his Enough Rope program one year. Was one of 10 runners-up, winning DVDs of the show. I've watched half of one.
